Optional Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand general site usage, such as which pages are visited and how visitors interact with the guide. The Google Analytics tag is not loaded unless you select “Allow analytics” in our notice. If you decline, analytics remains off for this browser.
If you allow analytics, information about your visit may be sent to Google for measurement. This can include page and interaction events, browser and device information, and approximate location derived from network information. Google may use cookies or similar technologies as described in its documentation and policies.
Change your choice
You can change your choice using “Analytics settings” in the footer of any page. Your choice is saved in this browser’s local storage. Clearing browser site data also clears the saved choice. Declining stops future analytics collection from this browser; it does not delete data already collected.
Calculator and market data
The Bitcoin purchase calculator runs in your browser. Your budget, fee entries and manual price are not sent to our server or included in requests to the price provider. We do not store these calculator entries.
For market prices, the calculator connects to Coinbase’s public spot-price API using the selected currency pair. Coinbase receives the requested pair and standard connection information, such as your IP address. These requests omit credentials and referrer information. See Coinbase’s privacy policy. The homepage also requests a Coinbase BTC/USD reference and a Bitcoin block height from mempool.space. These services receive connection information.

Calculator amounts stay in your browser and are excluded from our analytics events. Share links deliberately put the entered amount and scenario or date in the URL fragment; anyone receiving that link can read them. Historical data is loaded from our static snapshot. Current prices are requested directly from Coinbase, and block height from mempool.space; these services receive standard connection information. Analytics page addresses exclude query strings and fragments.
